Toronto and Presqu'ileStudents will be up by 7 AM for a breakfast of baked ham and cheese rollups. Afterwards we will take down the camp and load our luggage in the van, but instead of departing, we will be hiking a bit further into the Bruce Peninsula National Park, to the infamous Grotto. The Grotto is a small beach among tall sea cliffs that are dotted with partially submerged caverns. We will hike through the region and take in the views before heading back to the van.
By 10 AM, we will be departing Cyprus Lake campground, heading south towards Toronto. We will eat a lunch when we pass through Brampton, a suburb of Toronto, at 12 PM. Around 1 PM, we will arrive at Toronto, but we will just be passing through, turning east instead. After another 2 hours, we will arrive at Presqu'ile Provincial Park, a massive L-shaped outcropping of land stretching several miles into northern Lake Ontario After setting up camp at 3 PM, students will have some free time before dinner at 5:45 PM. We will be having Tinfoil Dinners, a delicious mix of hamburger and various vegetables cooked over the fire. Once we've had dinner, we will take a hike to Presqu'ile Point where the gorgeous Presqu'ile Lighthouse is located. We will arrive back to camp by 9:30 PM, where students will have free time until bed. |
